Direct Dropbox Integration

We are excited to announce a major update to the VidFlow upload experience. Starting today, you can import videos directly from Dropbox into your VidFlow galleries.

A Better Way to Upload

We know that for many of our members, the "download then re-upload" cycle is the biggest bottleneck in their day. Our new Dropbox import feature transforms this into a single, effortless step. By connecting your Dropbox account, you can now bring videos directly into your VidFlow galleries without the files ever touching your local device.

Built for Remote Teams and Editors

This update is a game-changer for those working with remote teams or external editors.

  • Skip the Wait: As soon as your editor saves a final cut to a shared Dropbox folder, you can import it to VidFlow instantly.
  • Remove the Middleman: There is no longer a need to transfer files via external hard drives or wait for massive 4K files to land on your desktop.

Efficiency at the Core

  • Direct Cloud Transfer: Videos move between servers at high speed, significantly improving your turnaround time.
  • Save Local Space: Keep your computer’s storage free for other projects. This integration uses zero local bandwidth and zero hard drive space.
  • More Ways to Upload: This is just the beginning of our commitment to adding more flexible upload options that fit the way professional teams actually work.

Getting Started

To start using this new workflow, head to your VidFlow Dashboard. When you go to upload a video to a gallery, you will now see the option to "Import from Dropbox." Simply link your account once, and you are ready to go.

Drop us an email, and share what other integrations are you interested in to simplify your workflows?

New Privacy Option: "People I Invite" – Secure, Password-less Delivery

The Problem: Unauthorized Access

Our existing "People I Choose" option provided private-access delivery to individual clients via unique access-codes. However, we listened to your feedback: static codes are easily shared, leading to unauthorized gallery views and potential loss of revenue, especially for theater, dance, and commercial projects.

The Solution: Seamless Security with OTP

To give you total control over your work, we are excited to introduce People I Invite (Secure). This new privacy setting replaces static codes with One-Time Password (OTP) verification, ensuring that only the specific individuals you invite can enter the gallery.

How it Works for Your Clients

We’ve designed this to be as frictionless as possible. Your clients no longer need to remember passwords or create accounts:

  1. Receive: The client gets a branded email invitation.
  2. Verify: Upon clicking the link, they enter their email and receive a 6-digit one-time code in their inbox.
  3. Access: They enter the code for instant, secure access on any device.

Key Benefits for Studios

  • Discourage Sharing: Because access is tied to a client’s personal email inbox, the incentive to "forward" access is removed.
  • Protect Revenue: Ideal for dance recitals and school performances where gallery access is restricted to paying customers.
  • Stakeholder Privacy: Ensure commercial deliverables are viewed strictly by authorized project stakeholders.
  • Live Access Management: See a real-time list of who has access and revoke permissions instantly if needed.

How to Get Started

You can find the new People I Invite (Secure) option on the Deliver page, alongside other privacy options. You can switch existing galleries to this new secure method at any time to immediately upgrade your security.

People I Invite (Secure) privacy option is available with the White-labeling Add-on and Annual Memberships.

Introducing Social-Ready Galleries

For years, VidFlow galleries have celebrated the cinematic beauty of widescreen video. But as videography evolves, so do your deliverables. Modern packages now include vertical reels and square posts, and showcasing them in widescreen galleries shouldn't be a compromise.

New Aspect Ratios for Sub-Pages

Today, we're excited to introduce a solution that addresses this challenge head-on! You can now choose from Vertical, Square, or Widescreen aspect ratios for video cards within your VidFlow gallery Sub-Pages.

This new feature ensures that your social media content is displayed in its intended format, providing a seamless and engaging viewing experience for your clients.

How to Use the New Aspect Ratio Options:

1. Create your Sub-Page: Once you have uploaded all your videos, go to the Link Media tab and create a new Sub-Page to showcase your social videos.

2. Set Aspect Ratio: On the sub-page, see the new options: Wide (default), Square, and Vertical.

3. Instantly Transform: For Social Vertical videos, choose the new Vertical option to instantly showcase your videos in portrait format.

We believe this update will significantly enhance the way you present and deliver social-first video content to your clients, further solidifying VidFlow as your ultimate video delivery platform.

Uploader 2.0

We're stoked to announce our brand-new uploader, created completely from the ground up to make your upload experience smoother and more reliable than ever before. With this new release, we've reimagined how uploading works in our web app to ensure you have an effortless and stress-free experience.

Note: This is an update to the built-in web uploader that you can use within the browser (and not a desktop app).

Key Highlights:

1. Auto-Resume Uploads - Never Lose Progress Again:

When uploading your project files, a lot can happen. You can lose network, devices can go to sleep, or even shut down. With the new uploader, your uploads automatically resume where you left off, instead of dealing with failed uploads & needing to upload the whole file again.

2. Concurrent Uploads - Faster & More Efficient:

When uploading a large number of files, we now support concurrent uploads (up to 3 files) at the same time, making the uploads more efficient. The new uploader automatically assigns bandwidth to additional files for the most efficiency.

3. Reliability for Large Files - No Size Is Too Big:

Uploading large files is now more reliable than ever. We've fine-tuned our system to handle large files with ease, so you can confidently upload your biggest project videos and more without worries.

Uploading is at the heart of what we do, and we're committed to making it the best it can be. That's why we've revamped our upload process to provide you with a seamless and reliable experience. Refresh your workspace (or clear browser cache) for the latest update.

This update was not possible without the feedback shared by our members. Thank you, and enjoy the new Uploader 2.0 with your next project!

New Ways to Add Video Thumbnails

When uploading videos to your galleries, adding thumbnail images to videos is a must to best showcase them to your clients.

We have always offered the option to upload custom images as video thumbnails, but we now offer two new & fast ways to add thumbnail images:

1. Use auto-generated 'Suggested' Images

When your video finishes uploading, you will see 3 suggested frames to use as the thumbnail for your video. You can simply click and apply and thumbnail image.

2. Capture Frame from Video

Once your video has finished transcoding and is available for playback, click the 'Capture Frame' button. This will switch the video preview to capture mode. Playback the video and seek to the desired frame, and preferably pause the video at that frame. Next, click the 'Use Frame as Thumbnail' button. The frame image will be then be applied as the video thumbnail.

You can learn more about adding video thumbnails here. If you have any feedback to improve this feature, you can share in comments below.
